'ew,' More Time, and 2015 Wishing Stars

Happy Wednesday! Today the students and I practiced the ‘ew’ spelling of the long U sound. We also watched our favorite Alphablocks which you can view on the website at home if you’d like. In Math we discussed and practiced activities that take more or less time. Lastly, in Science and Social Studies we held an outdoor class and created ‘wishing stars’ for our 2015 New Year resolutions.

For homework, please complete pages 109 and 110 in Week by Week Phonics as well as pages 13, 14, and 15 in Math Workbook. Some students have already completed the Math pages but if they ran out of time in class please use tonight to complete them. As always spend some time reading and using the Raz-Kids reading program.

Thank you to parents who have sent in money and order forms for our sports day t-shirt, we will place the order this Friday. Also, please be reminded that we will hold a short teacher appreciation ceremony after flag this Friday morning if any of you would like to attend. Thank you!

Yesterday's Post: January 13th, 2015

Good Afternoon Parents! Today the students reviewed initial consonant blends. Afterwards, we colored abd cut out our personalized piggy banks that the kids made during Math centers. Lastly, we began learning about the calendar year of 2015 and how each month is different.

For homework, please complete pages 106, 107, and 108 in Week by Week Phonics. Please also spend time reading with your child and reviewing tricky words.

Please note that this Friday we will hold a small teacher appreciation ceremony after flag and you are all welcome to join if you'd like. Also, just a reminder to please send in your sports day t-shirt order form and money as soon as possible so that we can order them this week.

Thank you and have a wonderful evening!
