The Grinch, Grouping 10, and Candy Cane Tricky Words

Good afternoon parents! Today the students and I read the story “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and completed special Grinch themed phonics exercises. In Math, we learned to identify groups of ten elves, remainders, and total them together. In Science and Social the students crafted their own candy canes and chose their favorite tricky words to write on each of the candy canes stripes. Please check the website if you would like to watch a video of the story we read today.

For homework, please complete pages 99 and 100 in Week by Week Phonics. As always, please review tricky words and spend at least 10 minutes reading with your child.

The students only need one more star by Friday to earn their special 100 star Christmas celebration! Have a wonderful day!
