Short Vowel Words, Simple Addition, Recycling

Hello Parents! I hope you are having a nice week so far. Today the kids and I reviewed short vowel words and learned the actions that match them. We also practiced simple addition in a series of Math centers. Lastly, we talked a little bit about pollution in the ocean and how we can help by creating less waste and recycling. There is a short video on the website that talks about recycling.

For homework, please complete pages 81, 82, and 83 in Week by Week Phonics as well as Math Workbook Chapter 8 pages 4-5. As always, please review tricky words and please spend at least 10-15 minutes reading with your child.

As for the Thanksgiving celebration, less than a third of the parents expressed interest in having a pot luck. We appreciate those who volunteered but due to few volunteers we will not be having the pot luck lunch this Thursday. The kids will spend plenty of time in class discussing the meaning of thanksgiving in and participating in several activities that teach us about giving thanks on this special day!
