<ss> and <zz>, Number 8, Reading Groups, and Under the Sea

Good Afternoon everyone! In class today, the students learned that sometimes short words with a short vowel have a double <ss> or a double <zz> at the end. In Literacy, the students broke into leveled reading groups and practiced various reading strategies. In Math, the kids learned all about the number 8. Last but not least, we discussed and completed a handout about things we can find under the sea! Check out the website for fun videos on the ocean and the number 8.

For homework, please complete pages 71, 72, and 73 in Week by Week Phonics as well as Chapter 7 pages 7, 8, and 9 in Math Workbook. As always, please practice tricky words and allow your child some time to read on Raz Kids.

Have a great evening!

-Ms. Megan :)
